Adisam Telecom
a Romanian Telecommunication Company
– with more than 30 years of experience in the field of Satellite Communication –
About us
Adisam Telecom was founded by engineers in 1993, as a Romanian telecommunication company and is the leading engineering-driven, connectivity provider, serving media, maritime, enterprise and government markets. We develop solutions, to address customer issues across a broad spectrum of areas, including system design, integration and installation, managed communication services including mobile, media services and mission critical networks. We provide connectivity to the most remote locations under the most treacherous conditions.
We engineer, integrate and install individual turnkey systems or complex networks and then support them through the lifecycle. Every component that we build or use into our solutions, services and products are tested exhaustively for reliability, compatibility and cost- effectiveness.
KEY FACTS and history
As of 1995 ADISAM was granted a Commercial License for operating satellite telecommunications (Very Small Aperture Terminal – VSAT) networks within Romania and in the same year we implemented and provided maintenance & service for the first Romanian national VSAT network.
In 1997 we started to provide direct Internet Access, via Satellite, to the US Internet backbones for ISPs within Romania.
In 1998 we have started to implement the VSAT data network for SHELL Romania, and we expand our VSAT operations in Romania and provide services in East European countries (e.g. Hungary, Bulgaria, and Turkey).
In December 1999 we implemented, commission and start the operation of our state-of-the-art Teleport with a 5.6m Andrew Antenna in Bucharest and with the beginning of January 2000, we provides 24/7 days to full year support, through our Operations Center – AOC (Adisam Operation Center)
Our engineering expertise has also produced a wide range of satellite and wireless products and solutions, ready for quick and cost-effective deployment.
In 2002 we implemented a Satellite Network for the Romanian Department of Defense. This was a turnkey solution that integrates data, voice, and IP services, via satellite and provides the highest service quality at the most convenient prices with flexible topology. The implemented solution allows connectivity between any numbers of sites and was fully compatible and interoperable with the existing Department of Defense network.
We deliver systems, equipment and managed communications services, under any conditions – from secure military applications to commercial or private networks, satellite maritime or land and television, radio or IPTV broadcast centers.
During 2003-2004 together with our international partner, Globecomm System, we upgraded 4 large antennas and implemented 2 new large satellite antennas at Cheia – Radiocom Satellite Center in Romania.
In 2006 we implemented a turnkey satellite communication HUB and a Network solution for the Special Telecommunication Agency in Romania, using iDirect state of the art technology.
We offer a wide range of satellite services from occasional capacity lease to permanent satellite segments, for small VSAT private networks to military network, in SCPC or MCPC mode, on any satellite, for local connectivity needs or even global. We have partnerships with main satellite providers and operators like Intelsat, Eutelsat, SES and others.
Our customers are our priority. With them in mind, we believe that every piece of technology we create should be easy to operate and allow users to work more effectively.
In 2009 we successfully implement a turnkey solution with a 9m Satellite Antenna for the Poland Department of Defense.
In 2016 we have been selected, once again, by the Poland Department of Defense, to upgrade the existing Antenna System (which we have built in 2009), by installing an additional 9m Antenna.
Starting in 2012 during a 3 years contract with end date 2015, we designed, integrate, install and put into operation, a large satellite platform made of 6 large fixed Satellite Antennas with 7m till 13m Dish dimensions.
We makes one commitment to our customers: the solutions we provide will work and the more complex your connectivity challenge, the more you can rely upon ADISAM to deliver.
Starting with 2004 till present days (2024), we provide space segment services for the Romanian Department of Defense – DoD – and from 2013 we include also the Romanian Navy as a beneficiary of our services for satellite capacity.
In 2013 we successfully implemented a turnkey solution with 2, 3.8m Ku- band Satellite Antennas for the Romanian Department of Defense, which are part of the Satellite network that connects all Romanian military troops around the world.
During 2013, following a bidding process, we managed to secure a contract for the modernization of the communications infrastructure within the Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU) by integrating a VSAT-type satellite communications system into mobile intervention centers.
Due to the successful implementation of the pilot project from 2013, in 2021 the Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU), entrusted us with the integration of a VSAT-type satellite communications system into 33 mobile intervention centers.
This contract was developed and implemented successfully in the period 2021 – 2023.
In 2014 we finalize the upgrade of the VSAT Satellite Network for Romanian Air Traffic Services Administration – ROMATSA in Bucharest and the territorial VSAT station in Constanta.
In the following years, we updated the ROMATSA territorial VSAT stations as follows:
- In 2016 ROMATSA territorial VSAT station in Cluj
- In 2018 ROMATSA territorial VSAT station in Arad
- In 2020 ROMATSA territorial VSAT station in Bacau
During 2015, following a public tender selection process, we modernize and expand the Romanian Armed Forces communications capabilities by providing, setting up and putting into operation of VSAT-type mobile communication systems. These VSAT mobile communication systems, are actively used both in theaters of operations outside Romania as well as in the national territory.
In 2017, following a public bidding process, we secured a contract with The Special Telecommunications Service, which coordinates the activities in the special telecommunications field for the Romanian public authorities, to provide them mobile VSAT systems that can be transportable on an airplane.
In 2018, following a public bidding process, Adisam updated the iDirect HUB system installed within The Special Telecommunications Service agency in 2006, adding new capabilities and installing the latest technology available from ST Engineering iDirect.
In 2019, following a public bidding process, we secured a second contract with The Special Telecommunications Service to provide them additional mobile VSAT systems that can be transportable on an airplane.
In 2019, following a public bidding process we implemented a second ST Engineering iDirect Satellite Communication HUB and a Network solution for The Special Telecommunication Service in Romania, thus expanding the Agency’s satellite communication capacity, by adding new functionalities and services.
Starting with 2021 till present days (2024), we provide space segment services for The Special Telecommunications Service, additionally we updated the iDirect HUB systems, installed at STS, to the latest available software from ST Engineering iDirect.
In 2023, following a public bidding process, we secured a third contract with The Special Telecommunications Service to provide them additional quickly deployable, mobile compact terminal systems, that can be transportable on an airplane, to expand existing communications capabilities.
In 2021 following a public bidding process, we secured a contract with Romanian Ministry of National Defense for a TROPOSCATTER RADIO SYSTEM (TRS).
The troposcatter radio system – TRS represents a safe backup solution for fixed communications and IT infrastructure at a strategic level, with the possibility of independent installation and operation, network extension or restoration of affected sections.
The TRS is established as a stationary communications node capable of providing critical, alternative communications services for the existing CIS infrastructure, as well as the extension of TIC services from SCIAR to deployable communications nodes and base/reserve command points.
The provided TRS solution was fully integrated, designed and realized, entirely in Romania, with the support of the main component suppliers, IRT Technologies, Inc. (Canada), Datum Systems, Inc. (US), ReQuTech, AB (Sweden).
In 2022 following the success of the first TROPOSCATTER RADIO SYSTEM (TRS), the Romanian Ministry of National Defense entrusted us with the second contract for an additional TROPOSCATTER RADIO SYSTEM (TRS).
This contract was successfully delivered, tested and installed and because the MoD were very satisfied with the performance of the TRS system, in 2023 they entrusted us with the third contract for an additional TROPOSCATTER RADIO SYSTEM (TRS).
